After 35 years of providing plants and nursery materials to greater San Diego it is always good to stop and take stock of where we are heading. In the span from 1975 to 2009 our sales have grown significantly. We now do considerably more business per week than we did the entire year of 1975. Our acreage has increased similarly from 3 original acres in Carmel Valley to more than 400 acres at three stores and two growing grounds.

Throughout this period of growth and expansion we have occupied the delicate position of both a wholesale supplier and a retail nursery. Along the way we have discovered that major wholesale consumers and the general retail public are no different in their needs. Quality, quantity, variety and a reasonable price both in service and product are a prerequisite to market acceptance.

In short, today’s nursery consumer, and for that matter, consumers in all fields demand value. In this difficult economy, we are dedicated to continue to provide that value as we have in the past. We want you to get your money’s worth as much, or more, than you do.

Providing that value, however, is no easy task. Our company is totally comprised of hard working people who want to continue to serve the community for years to come. But, we need your help. We need to know what’s hot and what’s not. We need your applause and constructive criticism.

Our goal is to provide a good living for our families and to promote a greener San Diego through providing a constant supply of top quality nursery products and offering information about those products. Through educational seminars, articles, and our website, we have attempted to make our customers more comfortable in buying nursery products through knowledge and familiarity.

With that in mind, it is our hope that you will come back to visit our updated website often. We plan to revise it frequently and in the months to come we will be adding more and more information to further enhance your nursery visits.

Please let us know your thoughts, let us know what you as consumers want to see in a nursery. Send your comments to me at info@evergreenursery.com; I can assure you we will be listening.
