Amity

  • Large, firm, dark red berries with classic flavor and superior quality.
  • Amity is good for shipping, freezing, and canning. Excellent choice for the home garden.
  • Amity can produce two crops. One on the first year growth in the Fall (beginning in late August), and again the following June on the 2 year old wood.

 

KIWI (Actinidia spp.)

Actinidia deliciosa or A. chinensis - Kiwi

  • Fuzzy, brown-skinned, green-fleshed fruit size and shape of an egg
  • Need male pollinator
  • Needs sturdy support for vine that can grow to 30'
  • Prefer good, well-drained soil and regular nitrogen fertilizer
  • Sensitive to salt burn in alkaline soils

Typically 4 or 5 varieties grafted on 1 rootstock (usually 1 lemon, 1 lime, 1 mandarin, and 1 or 2 oranges).

MANDARIN/TANGERINE (Citrus reticulata)

Mandarin/Tangerine varieties:

Algerian (aka Clementine)

  • Fruit a bit larger than 'Dancy' with fewer seeds
  • Ripens late fall into winter
  • Fruit remains on tree for months

 

CALAMONDIN (Citrofortunella microcarpa)

Calamondin or Calamansi - Sour-acid Mandarin

TANGELO (Citrus tangelo)

Tangelo varieties:

Minneola

  • Hybrid of 'Dancy' mandarine and grapefruit
  • Large, smooth, bright orange-red flesh tastes like a mandarin
  • Few seeds
  • Ripens mid to late winter, stores on tree for 2 months

GRAPEFRUIT (Citrus paradisi)
