- Moderate growing evergreen broadleaf tree or small shrub. Rarely reaches 10 feet in height with a spread of 4 to 8 feet.
- Tolerates a wide variety of soil, climate and watering conditions.

- Deep, dense green leaves and attractive peeling bark. White bell-shaped flowers in fall, followed by berries which change from yellow to red as they ripen. Berries are edible but not very flavorful.
