Brachychiton populneus (formerly Sterculia diversifolia) - Bottle Tree
Bottle Tree is an evergreen tree with small lobed leaves that can grow to 30 feet or more. It blooms small white flowers in spring or early summer and produces large, canoe-shaped seedpods. The tapered trunk develops and interesting bottle shape as it matures. Once established it requires little to moderate water and is heat and drought tolerant. Roots are non-invasive.
