Caesalpinia pulcherrima (formerly Poinciana pulcherrima) - Red Bird of Paradise, Dwarf Poinciana, Pride of Barbados

Red Bird of Paradise is a rapid growing mounding deciduous broadleaf shrub to about 8-10 feet tall and wide. It likes full sun and is heat and drought tolerant. Flowers bloom in warm months in shades of red-orange or yellow. For a more compact plant, hard pruning in spring is recommended.
