Spring is right around the corner and I don’t know about you but at my house that means its spring cleaning time. Now before you start groaning about all the work that needs to be done, there’s something therapeutic about getting rid of all the junk & clutter that’s been accumulating and starting fresh. One area that tends to accumulate clutter is the side of my house and one of the things that can be found there are plastic plant containers. I don’t know why, but I always think I might need one for something and 9.99999 times out of 10, those containers will just sit there, and sit there, and sit there…sometimes I’ll add some new ones to the collection after purchasing plants at the nursery and those just sit there too. Now that spring is here, it’s time to purge all the clutter, including those plastic plant containers!
Evergreen Nursery has a recycling/reuse program for all those containers you’ve been accumulating. We have been doing this before it was cool to be “green’ as a way to keep our costs low. Purchasing new plastic containers is expensive. When you see the price at the gas pump increasing, that means the cost of plastic is also increasing since it’s a petroleum based product.
Bring in your empty, usable (that means no cracks or broken cans), hard plastic containers and we’ll give you store credit for them!
Credit given for the following plastic containers:
- 1 gallon = 5¢
Flats = 15¢
5 gallon = 25¢
15 gallon = 75¢
After turning them in, you’ll receive a store voucher, valid for one year to purchase plants and other products (except sod and green waste dumps) from our nurseries.
