The Indio Mandarinquat is a cross between a mandarin orange and a kumquat. It got the best of both parents. It has a citrus taste - mostly sweet, a little sour, like a sour tangerine. It can also be eaten whole, peel and all, like a kumquat. The fruit is bigger than a kumquat, but smaller than a tangerine. They are football shaped and have a nobby little end where they attached to the limb and are naturally short, pyramid-shaped and covered in fruit from December to April.
