Erythrina caffra (formerly Erythrina constantiana) - Coral Tree
The Coral Tree is a medium growing, branching deciduous broadleaf tree to 20-40 feet tall and wide. A wide canapy and attractive branch structure make it an appealing specimen year-round. Brilliant red flowers bloom in winter; tree leafs out after bloom. It prefers full sun and moderate water. Annual pruning is recommended to reduce limb breakage. Fire resistant for defensible space.
