Plant of the Month - January 2020
Nandina domestica 'Firepower' - Dwarf Firepower Nandina
Dwarf Firepower Nandina, also known as Firepower Heavenly Bamboo, packs intense color in a compact size. Leaves of the evergreen shrub are larger than most other varieties of Nandina and are bright lime green when new. Over summer months they become heavily saturated with scarlet tones for dramatic fall and winter leaf color. Creamy white flower clusters bloom in summer, followed by bright red berries. Plants grow to a height of 2-3 feet with an equal width. They like sun or partial shade and require very little care other than regular watering, and need no pruning due to their dense growth habit and compact size. Great for borders and mass plantings and will also grow well in containers.
