Olea europaea - Olive
The European Olive is an evergreen tree native to the Mediterranean, growing to a height of about 35 feet. Long, oval leaves are grey-green and leathery. The tree is self-fertile, and the fruits are used to produce cooking oil or cured for culinary uses. It requires full sun and prefers moist, well-drained soil. It will tolerate poor quality soils and is drought resistant when established.
