Cara Cara Navel Orange Standard and Dwarf
The Cara Cara is an exciting newer navel orange with beautiful deep pink flesh and a sweet flavor. A hybrid between a Washington Navel Orange and a Brazilian Bahia Navel, the fruit first appeared in small select US markets in the 1980s but is now popping up in larger grocery chains. Although it resembles a blood orange, Cara Cara is actually much sweeter and low in acid, with delicate hints of raspberries and blackberries. It’s also packed with health benefits like vitamin A, vitamin C, potassium and antioxidants. The Cara Cara is a low maintenance fruit tree that can also be grown in a container for versatility. The peak season for fruit is December through April. Plant in full sun.
