Quercus agrifolia - Coast Live Oak
The Coast Live Oak is native to Southern California foothills and canyons. This evergreen tree can eventually reach a height of 70 feet and may live 200 years or more. It likes full sun and moderate water and does well in coastal landscapes. The tree has deep green, holly-like leaves and produces dark reddish-brown acorns in fall. Mature trees do not require regular watering. The Coast Live Oak is also fire resistant for defensible space.
