Salvia 'Waverly' - Waverly Sage
Although the exact origins of Waverly Sage are a bit of a mystery, gardeners have welcomed this newer member of the Salvia family into their landscapes for its lovely form, prolific blooms and ease of care. This medium sized shrub grows with an elegant fountain shape habit to 3-5 feet tall. Evergreen in mild climates, the foliage is dark green, slender and lance-like. Profuse flower stalks bloom delicate lavender and white flowers from spring through fall. Waverly Sage is fairly drought tolerant but prefers regular, if occasional, watering. It is wonderful for use in cottage style gardens, forest or meadow-scapes, and rock gardens, and is one of the best plants for attracting hummingbirds. It grows best when planted in full sun.
