Plant of the Month - February 2021
Thuja orientalis 'Aurea Nana' (aka Platycladus orientalis) - Dwarf Golden Arborvitae
The bright green and yellow foliage of Dwarf Golden Arborvitae lights up the landscape, turning a rich bronze in winter months. This compact evergreen shrub grows naturally in a teardrop shape, with dense fernlike sprays that rarely need pruning. It grows slowly to a height of 4-6 feet with a width of 3-5 feet. It works well planted in multiples for a formal row or border, or used as a focal plant in mixed beds. It also does well in containers and can be used in pairs to make an elegant entryway. Plant in full sun to partial shade and give moderate water.
